Back to LegalTranz

In 2015, life got much busier with running LegalLingo and family. That’s when I stopped updating my Sina Blog, where I’d documented my journey as a legal translator from 2006 to 2015, all the little victories and setbacks along the way.

Every now and then, I’d revisit those posts and see how far I’d come. But with Sina announcing it would shut down the platform, I knew it was time to find a new home for my posts. That’s when I thought of LegalTranz, a domain I registered back in 2010 for blogging, but Sina Blog was just easier, so I never really used it beyond storing a few basic legal translation resources. Unfortunately, during the back-and-forth of moving everything over, I lost all of my old content.

However, as the Chinese saying goes, “塞翁失马,焉知非福?” (roughly, “A blessing in disguise”). Now, with a fresh perspective, I’m rewriting those experiences (if not all, then at least the most memorable projects) in English, expanding my reach to a wider audience beyond just the local Chinese legal community.
